LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort has unveiled an ambitious expansion of its corporate event facilities, including new convention spaces and specialized team building programs designed to attract business groups from Singapore and across the region. The RM 25 million investment positions the family-oriented theme park as a serious contender in the corporate MICE market.
New Facilities Overview
The expansion includes a 1,000-seat convention hall with state-of-the-art AV systems, six breakout rooms accommodating 50-100 people each, outdoor team building zones with custom-designed LEGO challenges, dedicated catering kitchen for corporate events, and executive boardroom facilities. All spaces feature LEGO-themed design elements while maintaining professional ambience suitable for corporate gatherings.
Team Building Programs
LEGOLAND has developed unique team building programs leveraging its LEGO brand. Activities include LEGO Serious Play workshops for creative problem solving, Build & Race challenges fostering collaboration, themed scavenger hunts throughout the park, and leadership development programs using LEGO metaphors. These programs provide memorable alternatives to traditional team building activities.
Market Positioning
The expansion targets Singapore companies seeking engaging off-site venues. With the theme park located just 30 minutes from Singapore Woodlands checkpoint via the Second Link, accessibility makes it attractive for day trips or overnight corporate retreats. Package options include meeting space rental plus park access, team building activities, meals and refreshments, and accommodation at the adjoining LEGOLAND Hotel.
Economic Impact
LEGOLAND Malaysia estimates the corporate facilities will generate an additional RM 40 million annually when fully operational. This includes direct spending on venue rental and programs as well as ancillary spending on accommodation, food & beverage, and park admissions. The move also creates approximately 80 new jobs in events, catering, and program facilitation.
The expansion reflects growing confidence in Johor's corporate events market and demonstrates how even family-focused attractions can successfully diversify into MICE business when executed thoughtfully.
